You're Saying No to Abundance Without Realizing It
The block isn't your mindset. It's this one sneaky habit.
"Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune into." — Wayne Dyer
WHY WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THIS TODAY
Every issue of The Abundance Letters exists for one reason: to help you notice where you're already blocking the abundance you say you want. Not through guilt. Through awareness. Today we're looking at one of the sneakiest blocks there is — the habit of deflecting good things before they even fully arrive, whether that's money, a compliment, or an opportunity.
Most people think manifestation is about adding things: more affirmations, more vision boards, more hustle. But in our experience working with this community, the bigger lever is almost always subtraction — removing the unconscious habits that quietly repel what you're trying to attract.
THE HABIT: DEFLECTION
Deflection shows up small. Someone compliments your work and you immediately explain it away ("oh, it was nothing"). A friend offers to treat you to dinner and you insist on splitting it, even when you can't really afford to. An opportunity shows up slightly ahead of schedule and you find a reason to delay it.
Each of these is a tiny "no" to receiving. And the subconscious mind is listening. It learns from your patterns, not your affirmations.
THREE WAYS DEFLECTION SHOWS UP:
- Verbal deflection — downplaying compliments, achievements, or good news the moment they happen.
- Material deflection — discomfort accepting help, gifts, or being compensated what you're worth.
- Opportunity deflection — procrastinating on the very things you said you wanted, because they arrived faster than expected.
→ Curious what's actually shifting the energy around abundance for thousands of people right now?
A SIMPLE GUIDE: HOW TO PRACTICE RECEIVING THIS WEEK
- Step 1: Say "thank you" to a compliment with nothing added. No "but," no qualifier. Just thank you.
- Step 2: Let someone do something for you this week without insisting on reciprocating immediately.
- Step 3: Notice your body's response when something good happens faster than expected. Breathe into it instead of finding a reason to slow it down.
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
"I am open to receive. Abundance flows to me easily and often."
TODAY'S PRACTICE
Write down one moment this week you deflected good news or a compliment. Just notice it — no judgment. Awareness is the entire practice today. Use this as your inspiration!
